From October 4 to 8 Sagres hosts the bird watching festival. This festival has varied activities related to this activity, including courses, lectures, tours, health and activities with children.

Located in the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coastal Natural Park Sagres stands out in the ornithological panorama with special importance for the migratory birds in the end of Summer and Autumn that coincides exactly with the dates of the festival.

The great majority of the migratory birds that occur in Portugal can be found here at this time and therefore the Sagres peninsula is the place to visit at this time of year to witness the autumnal migration of passerines, seabirds and birds of prey. the most emblematic group of on-site migration.
